The crater is visited year-round. Highland mornings may be cold and misty; wetter periods can change road conditions and visibility.

Crater access, vehicle permits and time restrictions must be checked for your dates. Do not assume an unrestricted full day on the crater floor. Wildlife, including rhino sightings, is never guaranteed.
