Planning the Perfect Safari
Tanzania is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit depends on what you want to see and do.
The Dry Season (June to October)
Generally considered the best time for wildlife viewing. Animals congregate around water sources, and the thinning vegetation makes them easier to spot.
The Green Season (November to May)
The lush, green landscape is perfect for birdwatching as migratory species arrive. It's also the calving season in the southern Serengeti from January to March.
Trekking Kilimanjaro
The best months are the dry periods: January–February and June–October when skies are clear and success rates are higher.
Beach Getaways
Zanzibar and the coast are best enjoyed during the dry months. Be aware that March to May can see heavy rains.
